Universal Arts Teaching Gallery presents Will Plants Remember?, a solo exhibition of new work by Heather Beardsley, on view September 5 through October 3, 2026. This exhibition marks the gallery's inaugural solo show since its founding as an artist-run nonprofit dedicated to supporting underrepresented artists through exhibitions, workshops, panels, and classes. Homes are often thought of as places that preserve memory. Will Plants Remember? imagines those spaces across a different timescale, where domestic objects continue to exist as part of larger ecological cycles. Through embroidery and sculpture, plants intertwine with dollhouses, ceramic plates, and other familiar household forms, blurring the line between built environments and the living world… memory carried forward not in monuments or archives, but through cycles of growth, adaptation, and renewal. Artist Statement “The exhibition imagines domestic spaces after human presence has receded, asking not what disappears with us, but what continues. It marks a shift in my practice from architectural exteriors toward domestic interiors. Through embroidered photographs and textiles, altered dollhouses and vintage souvenir plates, and sculptures made with found objects, I explore household items as carriers of memory that evolve beyond human time.” — Heather Beardsley Exhibition Details Will Plants Remember?
